GPS-Monitoring System – Features Map

Software gives wide opportunities for satellite monitoring both to the companies and individuals. It has a user-friendly web-interface available from a personal computer and mobile devices, plus special mobile applications.

Online Supervision
Real-time supervision of the objects is realised from a personal computer or a mobile device. One does not need to install any special programmes either on the personal computer, or on the company’s server for these purposes. It is enough only to enter the web-interface through the browser, using a login and a password.

GPS/GLONASS Fine Location

The satellite navigation signals provide fine location, motion speed and direction. The actual and accurate information allows controlling the objects online and viewing the trip history in details.

Approximate Identification of Location through a GSM Signal

When receipt of satellite navigation signals is hampered, for instance, when tracking the cargoes in metal containers, in case of car theft, etc., the system allows determining an approximate location – through a GSM signal and location of the nearest NMT cellular base stations. As a matter of practice, the accuracy of such a technique makes from several tens to several hundreds of metres. Such information is enough for a series of tasks and is indispensable in the situations of extreme urgency.

Actual Information and Telemetry

Besides the motion parameters, you may also see the information from the car sensors and on-board systems in the real time. You may remotely control engine blocking, starting preheater, autostart module and other systems. All the information is presented on the widget panel, which you may adjust according to your needs.
Detailed Maps
TEHOS monitoring system offers the greatest choice of Moldavian and world maps. The maps are licenced: you use them lawfully and do not have to pay for them separately.

Detailed View till Home

A selection of 10 maps with streets and satellite images ensures an ideal cartographic coverage in any side of Moldova and other countries worldwide. The maps are switched over ‘on-the-fly’, by a click. If any of the maps is not enough detailed, another one will suit you for sure.

Routing and Traffic Jams

Lay the optimal routes within any number of scheduled points of visit. Routes are laid both inside the cities and towns and within the different localities. In this case, there are considered restrictions of the traffic rules and the chosen algorithm of optimality (shortest route, route with the minimum number of turnings and so on). Traffic jam display allows you saving the travel time. The routing function is often combined with control of deviation from the route set.

Address Search and Backward Geocoding

The smart search will automatically display the targeted address on the map, but if the information introduced is not complete enough, it will offer the choice of several nearest variants. The location address is included, as well, in event notifications and analytical reports. This allows easily understand, where an event took place or where a trip started and ended. Such information is completed by accurate geographical coordinates.

Own Object Plotting

Create your own cartographic layers, for instance, with the objects of your infrastructure. The data are uploaded in the KML format supporting the detailed descriptions and images. There is also available upload of the maps you have created or bought. All additional cartographic information will be available for view only for you.
Trip History

The monitoring system keeps the detailed trip history for 18 months. You may display a trip on the map or make a travel report over the targeted period, at any moment.

Trip List

For the sake of clarity, the entire travel route is divided into individual trips separated by stops. In this case, there is shown for each trip:

  • Address, date and time of beginning
  • Address, date and time of ending
  • Total distance and duration
  • Average speed

The system allows displaying the list of trips over different periods or simultaneously for several chosen supervision objects (for instance, for several vehicles). Selection of a colour scheme for individual trips will allow you visually compare the trips, avoiding any mess. If you need, you may switch off trip division and then the system will not take into account the stops.

Detailed Information on Different Travel Segments

If clicking any travel point, you may get additional information about motion parameters on that segment, such as speed, time and mileage after motion start.

Travel Reports

The analytical reports allow getting the aggregate information in the form of summary tables and activity charts.

Event Notification
The TEHOS Monitoring System allows controlling a wide range of events, basing on the location of the object supervised. Parameters of such events and ways of notification may be flexibly set by the user.

Types of Controlled Events

The types of recorded events may be divided into two groups – those ones not depending on the GPS-tracker model and those ones determined by the specific device functions and/or connection scheme. The first type includes such events as geofence entry and the second type comprises, for instance, road accident sensor actuation. In general, there are many types of events supported. However, they may be easily adjusted, due to a user-friendly assistant helping to create the controlling rules. Here is not nearly complete list of events, for instance:
  • Motion. Geofence entry, turnoff from the route, overspeeding, beginning of the stop, motion resumption.
  • Safety. Alarm button pushing, car alarm system actuation, vehicle battery shutdown, GSM communication failure, road accident sensor, fall or shock sensor, evacuation.
  • Equipment control. Switch-on of ignition and special mechanisms, button pushing, temperature overranging.
  • Driving quality. Aggressive manoeuvres, long-time stop with the engine on.
  • GPS-device operation. Low battery, disconnection from the external power supply, SIM-card removal, antenna disconnection.
  • And many others…

On-Screen, Telephone and E-Mail Notifications

When fixing an event, the system immediately informs the user – through an on-screen, telephone or e-mail message (SMS-notification or robocall). You may indicate any number of contacts.

Each message contains:

  • Object name
  • Date and time of event occurrence
  • Notification text set by the user
  • Location address and geographic coordinates thereof
  • Map reference

Place and Time Control

The place and time of control may be limited for any type of events recorded. You should specify more precisely the geofence and schedule in the event rule, for these purposes.
Fuel Management

Get accurate, complete and reliable information about real fuel use and real fill-up volume. Exclude emptying, frauds with cheques and other fuel machinations from the part of the drivers.

The fuel management function in the TEHOS Monitoring System provides all required tools in this regard. It helps you to control:

  • Fill-up. Fill-up date, time, place and volume.
  • Fuel consumption. Overall consumption, consumption per 100 km of route and consumption over any targeted period.
  • Emptying. Emptying date, time, place and volume.
  • Current volume. Information about current fuel volume both in the online mode and on the chart, over any period of time.

Various Control Techniques

The system allows using all up-to-date techniques to measure fuel consumption:

  • Special high-precision fuel level units
  • Data reading from the CAN and OBDII buses
  • Regular fuel level unit
  • Fuel flow meters

There is provided an option of installing several measuring units for vehicles with several tanks or with large-volume tanks. Setup of the unit and calibration chart parameters is realised through a graphic interface (this operation is realised, as a rule, by the equipment installer).

Mileage and Moto Hours

Mileage and moto hours are often the basic parameters to assess how actively the vehicle is used. Many entities calculate labour remuneration or amount of compensations for use of a personal car and fuel, oil and lubricants consumption, basing namely on these indicators. The TEHOS Monitoring System provides detailed and accurate information about both of such parameters.

Mileage over a Period Chosen

The majority of the GPS-tracker models possess the function of GPS-odometer. It allows determining the distance run, with a high precision. Basing on these data, the TEHOS Monitoring System displays the mileage over any period of time. If needed, you may indicate the working schedule – week days and working hours, which will be considered in the mileage report.

Moto Hours over a Period Chosen

The information on duration of vehicle engine operation is based on setting of the exact time of switching on and switching off thereof. This is mainly realised upon ‘Ignition’ signal, however, you may also use special engine operation sensors.

Trip Tickets

Entities may easily draft trip tickets. Formalised primary documents recording the driver’s work and motor vehicle operation are created only by a click.

According to the law, a trip ticket is a mandatory document and is required for the entity’s accountant, in order to substantiate transport expenses and, first of all, fuel, oil and lubricants consumption. Such a document shall be drafted on a daily basis and its form shall contain many fields and detailed trip route. That’s why automation of its filling in is an actual practical task.

The TEHOS GPS-Monitoring Systems allows drafting trip tickets in an automated way – for any vehicle chosen and for any day. The document is created on the basis of reference data and real trips of that vehicle. It particularly includes the following fields:

  • Entity name; garage address; mechanic’s surname, name and patronymic
  • Vehicle make and registration number
  • Driver’s surname, name and patronymic, their driving licence number and category
  • Time of departure and time of return to the garage
  • Fuel make and type
  • Fuel consumption: consumption by standards and real consumption
  • Trip list: points of departure and destination, time and distance of the trips
  • Summarised data per shift (time and mileage) and salary calculation

The system foresees different formats of trip tickets. There is also an option of using trip tickets of your own format. The documents created are kept in the MS Word format.

How to Draft a Trip Ticket

  • Enter the ‘Car fleet’ app in the web-interface of the monitoring system
  • Choose the vehicle you need
  • Indicate the date required in the ‘Car Fleet’ form and specify the working hours, if needed
  • Press the ‘Download’ button

Task Control

The TEHOS Monitoring Service helps managing the mobile personnel and transport through the task control function. The system contains user-friendly tools to plan tasks, to assign them to the employees and to control automatically fulfilment thereof.

Task Planning

A chief or a dispatcher may create one-time and regular tasks, as well as import the task list from the external systems. Tasks may be presented in different ways – on the map, on the time scale, depending on the employees and in the tabular form. The task lists and trip tickets created may be printed out at once and given to the employees.

Online Work Supervision

Supervision over department work allows having the situation under control and reacting to emergency situations. You always know where your employees are and what they deal with. You may assign a new task to the nearest employee and supervise work schedule compliance.

Check of the Work Done

Automated reports on work completion allow obtaining the reliable and accurate information about field employees’ performances. You may not only view the trip history on the map but also get explicit reports about the tasks done in time, with arrears or failed, as well as about the time the employee spent at the customer’s place.

Department Work Optimisation

Control the level of customer service and real man-loading. Compare performances of individual employees – the system gives the measurable key indicators to the chief. The Accounting Department will be able to calculate as precise as possible the expenses and compensations for fuel, oil and lubricants, due to accurate mileage and fuel flow recording.

Business Analytics

The TEHOS Monitoring System allows analysing comprehensively the information about mobile personnel’s work performances, vehicle use and cargo carriage. All navigation and telemetric information received from the GPS/GLONASS devices is processed by the monitoring system and is presented visually as tabular reports and charts, for these purposes.

Report Types

Reports are divided into functional groups, depending on their main destination and for the sake of ease in use. Below there is presented a list of such groups and most widely used reports:

  • Trips. Trip history with detailed information about mileage and stop history.
  • Geofences. Geofence visits, control of turnoff from the scheduled trip route.
  • Safety and guard. Car protection and troubling events related to personnel and cargo safety; actuation of taking-off and road accident sensors.
  • Vehicle use. Moto hours, fuel consumption, meter readings and CAN/OBD2 data.
  • Driving quality. Overspeeding, dangerous and careless driving, increased consumption of the fuel, oil and lubricants, vehicle wear and tear.
  • External equipment. Special mechanism operation, vehicle sensor readings, temperature and humidity sensors readings in the course of cargo carriage.
  • Status of GPS-device operation. GSM-connection reports, backup battery charge reports, external power shutdown reports.
  • Other reports. Summarised reports on different types of events, system messages, SMS-requests for location and so on.

Adjustable Parameters and Group Reports

When requesting a report, the user may select one or several supervision objects, a period, which the report is created over, working schedule (working days and hours), or may specify the characteristic report parameters.

Really Prompt Reports

The TEHOS Monitoring System is distinguished through really prompt reports. This allows easily drafting the summarised reports on a group of objects over a long-time period. This is achieved due to a range of advantages:

  • Optimised algorithms of information processing, including data preprocessing and distributed computations
  • Recently drafted reports are kept in the system as ready data and are available for view without repeated computations
  • Background drafting of reports does not interrupt user’s work in the monitoring system

Integration with Corporate IS

Due to the application programming interface (API), the data at different levels, both ‘raw’ and processed ones, are available for uploading to third-party applications and corporate ERP-systems. Geo-data are the most effectively used in the customer relationship management systems (CRM), supply chain management systems (SCM) and enterprise content management systems (ECM).

Web-Locator

You may easily add useful geo-services to your corporate web-site, personal blog or programme application. Interactive plugins may be built therein in a matter of minutes and without any special knowledge.

The Web-Locator plugin forms a map window displaying the objects you indicated, in the real time. Due to this function, your web-site or application users may easily view, where an object is located now or where it was yesterday. One of the remarkable examples of use is watching the participants in the sports events.

On-Map is a plugin for business use. It allows your company’s customers controlling the process of their order delivery right on your corporate web-site. A classic example is check of pizza delivery, using the order number introduced by the client, or the telephone number.

How to Use Plugins

Plugin adding does not require knowledge of programming. It is enough only to copy a HTML-code from your personal account and put it in any place on your web-site. You may set up the display parameters – window size, cartographic base, marker colour and so on, in your personal account.

Mobile Supervision
While you are on your way or on the production site, you may continue supervising your objects, if only you have a cellular telephone or a tablet PC at hand.The mobile app lets you monitor your items with mobile phones or tablets running iOS and Android.

If you enter the monitoring system login page from a mobile device, you will be automatically proposed a mobile version of the web-interface. The mobile web-interface is optimised for mobile device performance, has an adaptive design for telephones and tablet PCs, and supports gesture management and high-definition displays (Retina). Using the option ‘Remember me’, you will not have to introduce the login and password at each entry.

Protection and Safety

The TEHOS Monitoring system ensures safety of the vehicle, driver and cargo, through complex informing about dangers and automated preventive actions, which include, as well, engine blocking. Such options are used both by private car owners and by such entities, as security firms, collection services and car hire companies.

The system analyses many telemetric data received from the GPS/GLONASS trackers, car sensors and systems, on a day and night basis. If the system detects any danger, it informs a certain range of people and initiates such counter-measures as engine start blocking or car horn switching on.

Vehicle Protection from Theft; Road Accident and Driving Quality Control

Special solutions for vehicle protection from theft, for private car owners and car hire companies, record various emergency situations, notifying the owners by telephone about such threats as:

  • Car alarm system actuation
  • Car evacuation
  • Driving out of the territory set
  • Removal of the car battery
  • Attempt of GSM suppression
  • Removal of the protection device
  • Road accident sensor actuation
  • Aggressive driving behaviour
  • And many other things

The system also allows blocking engine start remotely or switching on the car horn.

Driver’s Alarm Button

In case of danger, the driver may transmit an alarm signal by pushing a special button. A message will be instantaneously addressed to the contacts indicated through an SMS or e-mail message, or will be displayed on the dispatcher’s monitor. Such a message will include the information about place (address and coordinates) and time of the event.

Cargo Opening Control

Using special sensors, the system records where and when the vehicle cargo area or container was open. Such information will immediately come to the dispatcher’s monitor, will be repeated in an SMS and e-mail messages, and will be recorded in the e-book.

The monitoring system allows setting up remotely the parameters of interval tracking modes and controlling the energy efficiency of the specialised GPS-beacons for cargoes, containers and trailers, in order to track the cargoes transported over long distances and during a long period of time.

Situation Monitoring

The monitoring system has a special app for dispatcher’s centres and security services. Such an app allows controlling a certain range of troubling events related to the devices supervised, in the real-time mode. The messages that are actual now or comply with a criteria set, are displayed on a separate screen.

Route Control

Indicate the trip route and allowed deviation distance, to make the monitoring system track task fulfilment. Information about en-route traffic beginning and turnoff therefrom will be recorded in the e-book. If you need, you may set up notifications that will be displayed on the screen and repeated in e-mail and SMS messages.

Automated Routing

Set the points of departure and destination, as well as checkpoints, and the system will automatically propose you a recommended route. The route may be laid both inside a city or town and within different localities, taking into account road restrictions and traffic jams. You may also select the algorithm of optimal routing.

Download data from the tachograph
The TEHOS Monitoring Platform allows you to receive ddd files from tachographs and cards. Files are sent to the specified emails and stored in the recipient’s archive. Other ddd files are used to make checks:
  • to monitor compliance with the working and rest regime by drivers
  • to detect violations during tachograph operation
The retention period of the ddd files and the frequency of receipt are determined by the rules for the use of tachographs. For example, in Russia and European countries, the ddd files are downloaded once in 28 days from the driver card, every 90 days after the tachograph and stored for 1 year. You can receive ddd files in two ways:
  • automatically, according to the program
  • manual, on request
In some countries, it is possible to store ddd files without specifying company owner data. For these purposes, it is possible to download an incomplete ddd file.

Set up the download of the ddd file

To get the ddd files to email, you need to set the necessary settings in “Device Management”:
  • specify the company card number and select the auto-send period
  • specify the email address to which the files will be sent. There may be several addresses
To manually send ddd files on demand, click the Download button:
Getting your ddd files takes 5-10 minutes. Once it is complete, the ddd attached files will be sent to the e-mail addresses.

Window Web-Interface

The user interface of the TEHOS Monitoring System may be presented as a desktop, where there are launched the apps the users need. It seems greatly to the way you launch the apps in such window operating systems as Windows or MacOS. The users launch the apps they need all by themselves – depending on the data they will work with or the way they must be presented. In this case, the users may control the window size and location, as well as the list of supervision objects attached thereto.

Data Broadcasting to the External Servers

Data broadcasting means transfer of the data coming from the GPS/GLONASS trackers or the TEHOS Monitoring server to third-party servers indicated by the user. These may be, for instance, the logistic servers of the IT-systems. Such transfer is realised in the real time, i.e. without any delays, directly at the moment of receipt thereof. The data are sent according to a certain data protocol (format) to the address and port indicated by the user, with or without authorisation. Retranslator management and tie-in of the devices thereto is realised in a very simple way – using the ‘Retranslation’ widget in the ‘Device Management’ web-app.

Integration with the External Information Systems through the API
